About Us

I grew up drinking a lot of different teas. I would have a cup in the morning, maybe one in the afternoon, and at times one in the evening. I loved trying out all types of tea. Some of my favorites were Green Tea, English Breakfast, and Chamomile. Tea brought me peace. Until it didn't.

One day, I read an article about the billions of microplastics that enter our tea from tea bags. I was devastated. I stopped drinking tea. I was too worried about consuming microplastics. One of my favorite activities had ended. 

I wanted desperately to get back into drinking tea, but I wasn't in love with the inconvenience of loose leaf tea. I started doing some research about which tea bags I could trust, but it became time consuming and difficult to sort through who I could trust.  I became frustrated and angry. The opposite of peace.

Finally, I couldn't sit by any longer. I had to do something about it. And that is when the idea of Safe Tea Co came to light. I wanted to build a tea company that people could trust. One that didn't require research. One that cared for you as much as you did for yourself. One that wanted only the best organic ingredients and microplastic free materials. And that is where our story begins. Thank you for being part of this journey and for caring so much about what you drink.
